Star Wars: age 9 Webcomic ^

I’m thinking of scanning my old Star Wars comic strip adaptation which I made with my own hands when I was 9, back in 1977.

As it is the definitive version I’m sure Star Wars enthusiasts will enjoy reading it, so when I have the time I’ll publish it here. Should be a fun project. I’m amazed that it’s survived this long! I even used to lend it to people! My best primary school chum Niall borrowed it and even made a comic adaptation of his own – which I envied. I always admired his drawing style: very scratchy but good. Mine was more outliney, his was a shorter step away from tonal drawing. I wonder if he still has his – a small red, ruled, hardback notebook bought from the corner shop in Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare. He always liked the small format.

We never had the luxury of normal CLEAR cellotape in the house -always that flipping ugly, really sticky brown stuff. It used to drive me mad trying to copy stuff off the telly that they showed on ‘Make and Do’, or whatever, using that. Your comic would have looked much better if you’d had real cellotape!
